STARTER DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE STARTER LEAD WIRE


    1. Remove the screw and starter lead wire.

  2. REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from terminal C.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and O-ring, and pull out the starter yoke assembly together with the starter armature assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the 2 bolts.

  3. REMOVE MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and magnet starter switch assembly.

    2. Remove the return spring.

      *1 Starter Clutch Sub-assembly
      *2 Starter Armature Pinion
      *3 Starter Idler Pinion
      *4 Retainer
      *5 Clutch Roller

      Remove the starter clutch sub-assembly, starter armature pinion, starter idler pinion, retainer and clutch roller from the starter drive housing.

    4. A01SBHQC13
      *a Magnet Hand

      Using a magnet hand, remove the steel ball from the hole of the clutch shaft.

  4. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01SEFZ

      Disconnect the 4 starter brushes from the starter brush holder assembly.


      1. Using a screwdriver, pull back the spring.

      2. Disconnect the brush from the starter brush holder assembly.

    2. Remove the starter brush holder assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

  5. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

      Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the end of the starter yoke assembly and remove the starter armature assembly.
