STARTER(for 2.2 kW Type) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. for Automatic Transmission:

      
      

      1. 

         Temporarily install the starter assembly and ground cable with the nut and 2 bolts.

      2. Tighten bolt A and nut B.

         Torque:

         68 N*m  { 693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf }

   2. for Manual Transmission:

      
      

      1. Temporarily install the starter assembly and ground cable with the 2 bolts.

      2. Install the clutch release cylinder assembly with the 2 bolts.

         Torque:

         11.8 N*m  { 120 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      3. Tighten the 2 bolts.

         Torque:

         68 N*m  { 693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf }

   3. Connect the starter wire with the nut.

      Torque:

      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

   4. Connect the starter connector.

   5. Install the starter terminal cap.

2. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SEAL LH

   
   

   1. for 4WD and Pre-Runner:

      Install the front fender seal LH with 6 new clips.

   2. for 2WD:

      Install the front fender seal LH with 5 new clips.

3. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD and Pre-Runner)

4. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD and Pre-Runner)

   Click here

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

   Note

   When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
