THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THERMOSTAT

      Install a new gasket to the thermostat.

      Note

      When installing the gasket to the thermostat, be careful not to deform the gasket. Make sure that the groove of the gasket is properly installed to the thermostat, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert the thermostat into the cylinder block with the jiggle valve facing straight upward.

      Tech Tips

      The jiggle valve may be set within 30° of either side of the prescribed position.

  2. INSTALL WATER INLET


    1. Install the water inlet with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the wire harness with the bolt to the water inlet.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  3. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 2 radiator hose to the water inlet.

  4. CONNECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE CLAMP (for Automatic Transmission)


    1. Connect the automatic transmission oil cooler tube clamp to the water inlet with the bolt.

      Torque:
      13.5 N*m  { 138 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL COMPRESSOR INLET ELBOW

  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  10. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  11. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  12. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  13. INSTALL INTERCOOLER ASSEMBLY
