UREA TANK INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL UREA TANK HARNESS


    1. Install the urea tank harness to the urea tank sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 UREA TANK BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 2 urea tank bracket to the urea tank sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT GUARD BRACKET (for 4WD)


    1. Install the propeller shaft guard bracket to the urea tank sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 UREA TANK BRACKET (for Pre-Runner)


    1. Install the No. 1 urea tank bracket to the urea tank sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL UREA PUMP

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 UREA TANK BREATHER TUBE

    Note

    Check for dirt or mud on the urea tank sub-assembly and around the No. 2 urea tank breather tube connector before connection. Clean if necessary.


    1. Install the No. 2 urea tank breather tube to the urea tank sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      If there is any solidified urea solution (white solids) on the connection areas of the No. 2 urea tank breather tube and urea tank sub-assembly, clean the solids off with water. Otherwise, they may prevent the O-ring from sealing properly.


      1. Wash the connection area of the No. 2 urea tank breather tube connector with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

      2. Wipe off the connection area of the urea tank sub-assembly with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

        Align the axis of the urea tube connector with the axis of the urea tank sub-assembly. Push the No. 2 urea tank breather tube connector into the urea tank sub-assembly until the No. 2 urea tank breather tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      4. Push down the retainer.

      5. After connecting the urea tank sub-assembly and the No. 2 urea tank breather tube connector, check that the urea tank sub-assembly and No. 2 urea tank breather tube connector are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

  7. INSTALL UREA PUMP CONTROL ECU

  8. INSTALL UREA TANK SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01SI4SC02
      *A for Pre-Runner
      *B for 4WD

      Install the urea tank sub-assembly to the body with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      for bolt A
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
      for bolt B
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the urea tank sub-assembly to the No. 3 crossmember sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

    3. Connect the urea tank sub-assembly to the No. 3 urea tank bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

    4. Attach the 2 clamps and connect the 3 connectors to the urea tank harness.

  9. CONNECT UREA TANK FILLER PIPE ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Check for dirt or mud on the urea tank filler pipe assembly and around the urea tube connector before connection. Clean if necessary.


    1. Connect the urea tank filler tube to the urea tank sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      If there is any solidified urea solution (white solids) on the connection areas of the urea tank filler tube and urea tank sub-assembly, clean the solids off with water. Otherwise, they may prevent the O-ring from sealing properly.


      1. Wash the connection area of the urea tank filler tube connector with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

      2. Wipe off the connection area of the urea tank sub-assembly with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

        Align the axis of the urea tank filler tube connector with the axis of the urea tank sub-assembly. Push the urea tank filler tube connector into the urea tank sub-assembly until the urea tank filler tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      4. Push down the retainer.

      5. After connecting the urea tank sub-assembly and the urea tank filler tube connector, check that the urea tank sub-assembly and urea tank filler tube connector are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

    2. Connect the No. 1 urea tank breather tube to the No. 2 urea tank breather tube.

      Tech Tips

      If there is any solidified urea solution (white solids) on the connection areas of the No. 2 urea tank breather tube and No. 1 urea tank breather tube, clean the solids off with water. Otherwise, they may prevent the O-ring from sealing properly.


      1. Wash the connection area of the No. 1 urea tank breather tube connector with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

      2. Wipe off the connection area of the No. 2 urea tank breather tube with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

        Align the axis of the No. 1 urea tank breather tube connector with the axis of the No. 2 urea tank breather tube. Push the No. 1 urea tank breather tube connector into the No. 2 urea tank breather tube until the No. 1 urea tank breather tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      4. Push down the retainer.

      5. After connecting the No. 2 urea tank breather tube and the No. 1 urea tank breather tube connector, check that the No. 2 urea tank breather tube and No. 1 urea tank breather tube connector are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

    3. Install the pipe clamp to the urea tank filler pipe assembly.

  10. CONNECT NO. 1 UREA TUBE WITH HEATER

    Note

    Check for dirt or mud on the urea tube with heater assembly and around the urea tube connector before connection. Clean if necessary.


    1. Connect the No. 1 urea tube with heater to the urea tube with heater assembly.

      Tech Tips

      If there is any solidified urea solution (white solids) on the connection areas of the No. 1 urea tube with heater and urea tube with heater assembly, clean the solids off with water. Otherwise, they may prevent the O-ring from sealing properly.


      1. Wash the connection area of the urea tube connector with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

      2. Wipe off the connection area of the urea tube with heater assembly with water to remove all solidified urea solution (white solids).

        Align the axis of the urea tube connector with the axis of the urea tube with heater assembly. Push the urea tube connector into the urea tube with heater assembly until the urea tube connector makes a "click" sound.

      4. After connecting the urea tube with heater assembly and the urea tube connector, check that the urea tube with heater assembly and urea tube connector are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.

      5. Attach the lock claws to the urea tube connector by pushing down on the cover.

      6. Attach the No. 1 urea tube with heater to the tube clamp.

      7. Attach the connector to the tube clamp.

      8. Connect the connector to the urea tube with heater assembly.

  11. INSTALL UREA TANK PROTECTOR


    1. Install the urea tank protector to the body with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      14.3 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT GUARD (for 4WD)
