CYLINDER HEAD REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL VALVE SPRING SEAT

      Install the valve spring seat.

  2. INSTALL VALVE


    1. A01LDK0C01
      *a 35 mm (1.38 in.)

      Apply plenty of engine oil to the tip area of the valve shown in the illustration.

    2. A01L9W1N01

      Place the cylinder head on wooden blocks.

    3. Install the valve, inner compression spring and valve spring retainer to the cylinder head.

      Note

      Install the same parts in the same combination to their original locations.

    4. Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and place the valve spring retainer lock around the valve stem.

    5. Using a 5 mm pin punch and hammer, lightly tap the valve stem tip to ensure a proper fit.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the valve stem tip.

  3. INSTALL VALVE LIFTER


    1. A01LETX

      Apply engine oil to the valve stem end and valve lifter and install the valve lifter to the valve stem.

    2. Check that the valve lifter rotates smoothly by hand.
