DESCRIPTION
In order to detect blockages in the positive pressure filter, the ECM determines if the fuel pressure of the common rail has deviated from the target value every 5000 km. If the average value of the judgment values recorded every 5000 km exceeds the threshold, a blockage is determined to be occurring in the positive pressure filter and a DTC is stored.
Also, at the same time, the go to service warning light illuminates and engine output is limited. The go to service warning light turns off after clearing the DTC.

Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
CHECK DTC OUTPUT
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS ON.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs.

When P00BB is output, the fuel filter cap with element needs to be replaced. In order to inspect the fuel filter element assembly for blockages, do not perform replacement at this stage.

INSPECT FUEL FILTER ELEMENT ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the clogging switch connector from the fuel filter element assembly.
Start the engine and warm it up.
Connect a circuit tester to the clogging switch.
Check that the clogging switch does not turn OFF (10 kΩ or higher) when revving the engine up from idling.
If the clogging switch turns OFF, it can be determined that the fuel filter element assembly is becoming clogged.
