Note
After replacing the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (DPF catalyst), clear the thermal deterioration data stored in the ECM.
PROCEDURE
TAKE SNAPSHOT DURING IDLING AND 4000 RPM (PROCEDURE 1)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Start the engine and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Catalytic Converter.
Take a snapshot of the following Data List items.
Tech Tips
A snapshot can be used to compare vehicle data from the time of the malfunction to normal data and is very useful for troubleshooting. The data in the list below is that of a normal vehicle, but as the data varies between individual vehicles, this data should only be used for reference.
Check the Data List at idling and at 4000 rpm with no load after the engine is warmed up.

READ VALUE USING GTS (CATALYST DIFFERENTIAL PRESS)
Check Catalyst Differential Press in the snapshot taken in procedure 1 when the engine was running at 4000 rpm with no load.

PERFORM CATALYST RECORD CLEAR AND DETERIORATION RECORD CLEAR
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / Catalyst Record Clear.

PERFORM PM FORCED REGENERATION
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds or more.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature reaches 75°C (167°F) or higher.
Maintain the maximum possible engine speed under no load for 10 seconds to blow out all soot from inside the exhaust pipe.
Tech Tips
If only a low engine speed is continuously maintained, soot may accumulate at the end of the catalyst.
When soot accumulates at the end of the catalyst, it may not be possible to perform PM forced regeneration control normally.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Activate the DPF Rejuvenate (PM) / Data List / Diesel Exhaust / Coolant Temp and Exhaust Temperature B1S2.
Perform the Active Test.

CAUTION:
Be careful of the exhaust pipes and surrounding areas, as they become extremely hot when performing PM forced regeneration.
Tech Tips
When PM Accumulation Ratio is too low, Activate the DPF Rejuvenate (PM) cannot be performed. Therefore, rev the engine with no load at 3400 rpm for 5 to 10 minutes to increase PM Accumulation Ratio to 12% or more.
After 10 minutes have passed with the Coolant Temp at 80°C (176°F) or higher during PM regeneration, check the value of Exhaust Temperature B1S2.
Tech Tips
PM forced regeneration takes 15 to 40 minutes to finish.
The time it takes to complete PM forced regeneration changes depending on "PM Accumulation Ratio" and the vehicle operating conditions.
If the value of "Catalyst Differential Press" increases too much during the PM forced regeneration, the failsafe function activates and PM forced regeneration is stopped.
Perform PM forced regeneration control until the display on the multi-information display turns off.
If actions such as depressing the accelerator pedal or clutch pedal, etc. are performed during PM forced regeneration, PM forced regeneration stops. If PM forced regeneration stops, it is necessary to perform it again.
PM forced regeneration control is not complete until the display on the multi-information display turns off.
