| P208B | Reductant Pump "A" Control Range/Performance |
| P208D | Reductant Pump "A" Control Circuit High |
| P20E9 | Reductant Pressure Too High |
DESCRIPTION
The urea pump is a bottom entry type intake pump installed to the bottom of the urea tank sub-assembly.
This urea pump has functions that 1) pressurize and supply the urea solution, 2) thaw frozen urea solution and heat the urea solution to prevent further freezing, 3) gauge the level of remaining urea solution inside the tank and 4) filter foreign matter inside the urea tank sub-assembly.
When the engine is stopped, the urea pump operates in reverse to draw the urea solution in the pipe back into the urea tank sub-assembly.
The urea pump performs feedback control using the pressure sensor, achieving accurate urea solution volume adjustment control.
| DTC No. | Detection Item | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area | MIL | Memory |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| P208B | Reductant Pump "A" Control Range/Performance | When each pump status is "operating" (operation check, filling, pressure increase, pressure maintenance, line pressure relief), urea pump rotation malfunctions, pressure malfunctions, etc., are detected multiple times (1 trip detection logic). | Urea pump | Comes on | DTC stored |
| P208D | Reductant Pump "A" Control Circuit High | When power is supplied to the urea pump (during normal/reverse operation, power supplied to heater, position fixed), the pump current is equal to or greater than a fixed value (1 trip detection logic). | Urea pump | Comes on | DTC stored |
| P20E9 | Reductant Pressure Too High | After filling the urea injector with urea solution from the urea pipe, the urea pressure is continuously higher than a fixed value (1 trip detection logic). | Urea pump | Comes on | DTC stored |

Tech Tips
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P208B, P208D OR P20E9)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs.

Tech Tips
*: If any other DTCs (CAN communication malfunctions or open/short circuits) are output, perform troubleshooting for those DTCs first.

CHECK AROUND BOTTOM OF VEHICLE
Check around the bottom of the vehicle.
Tech Tips
If the urea solution dries on an object, deposition occurs and leaves behind a white powder.
Area to check:
Areas connecting the urea pump and urea injector set.
Perforations in the urea tank sub-assembly.
Connectors not connected properly.
Clogging of the cooling fins of the urea injector set.
Tech Tips
If the cooling fins are clogged with foreign matter, remove the foreign matter and clean the cooling fins.
Repair any trouble areas.
