  2. DRAIN HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID

    1. A01MGV2C01
      *1 Filler Plug
      *2 Drain Plug

Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the filler plug and gasket from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

    2. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the drain plug and gasket from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly and drain the fluid.

    3. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the drain plug and a new gasket to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }
  3. ADD HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID

    1. A01MHU8C01
      *a Filler Plug Hole
      *b Filler Nozzle
      *c 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.)

Add fluid until the fluid level is between 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.) from the bottom lip of the filler plug opening.

      Note

      • When adding fluid, make sure that the vehicle is level.

      • Use Toyota Genuine ATF WS.

      • Be sure to fully insert the filler nozzle into the filler plug opening.

      • Be sure to add fluid slowly. If fluid is added quickly, the fluid may hit internal parts and bounce back, resulting in the fluid coming out of the filler plug opening.

      • Be sure to directly check that the fluid level is within the specified range.

      • Insufficient or excessive amounts of fluid may damage the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Standard Fluid Capacity (for Reference)
4.2 liters (4.4 US qts, 3.7 Imp. qts)
    2. After adding fluid, leave it for 30 seconds so that the fluid surface can become still again, and then check that the fluid level is between 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.) from the bottom lip of the filler plug opening. (if fluid level is too low, return to the fluid filling procedure.)

      Note

After adding fluid, make sure to check the fluid level.

    3. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, temporarily install the filler plug and gasket to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Tech Tips

Because the filler plug will be removed again, the gasket can be reused at this time.

    4. Switch to maintenance mode and wait for 1 minute.

  4. INSPECT AND ADJUST HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID

    1. A01MG9TC01
      *1 Filler Plug
      *a 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.)

Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the filler plug and gasket from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

    2. Check that the fluid level is between 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.196 in.) from the bottom lip of the filler plug opening.

      Note

      • When inspecting fluid, make sure that the vehicle is level.

      • Be sure to directly check that the fluid level is within the specified range.

      • Insufficient or excessive amounts of fluid may damage the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      • If the fluid was replaced or added, make sure to recheck the fluid level after driving the vehicle.

    3. Check for leaks if the fluid level is low. (If there are no fluid leaks but the fluid level is low, add fluid.)

    4. Using a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the filler plug and a new gasket to the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }
  5. INSPECT FOR HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID LEAK
