DESCRIPTION

DTC P0630 is stored when the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is not stored in the EV control ECU or the input VIN is not accurate.

Either of the following conditions is met (1 trip detection logic):


  • The VIN number is not stored in the ECM.

  • The VIN number written to the ECM is not accurate.

Note

When the vehicle is parked with the power switch off, if the FC control ECU judges that the FC stack temperature will go below 0°C (32°F), it activates the FC air compressor, hydrogen pump and FC cooling water pump for a maximum of 180 seconds and drains water from the FC stack assembly. When performing inspection or repairs with the power switch off (not on (IG) or on (READY)), disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal before performing work (If the auxiliary battery voltage is needed to conduct inspection, warm up the FC system beforehand).

Tech Tips


  • Read freeze frame data using the GTS. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

  • After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0630)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.

    5. Read the DTCs.


      Powertrain > EV > Trouble Codes

      Note

      If P0630 is output, the VIN must be input to the EV control ECU using the GTS. However, all DTCs are cleared automatically by the GTS when the VIN is input. If DTCs other than P0630 are output, troubleshoot them first.
