NAME PLATE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 1 BACK DOOR EMBLEM

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 1 back door emblem, heat the vehicle body and No. 1 back door emblem using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    No. 1 Back Door Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new No. 1 back door emblem.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new No. 1 back door emblem.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 1 back door emblem.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Align the boss positions and install the No. 1 back door emblem.

        Tech Tips

        Press the No. 1 back door emblem firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR NAME PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When installing the back door name plate, heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and back door name plate using a heat light.

    Back Door Outside Garnish Sub-assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Back Door Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    CAUTION:


    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.

    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    1. Clean the back door outside garnish sub-assembly surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new back door name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and a new back door name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the back door name plate.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the back door name plate in the position shown in the illustration.

        • The values in the illustration are reference values.

        • Press the back door name plate firmly to install it.

  3. INSTALL BACK DOOR MARK

    When installing the back door mark, heat the vehicle body and back door mark using a heat light.
