UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a

      Screw <C>

      Remove the 3 screws <C> and defroster nozzle assembly.

2. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a

      Screw <C>

      Remove the 3 screws <C> and No. 2 heater to register duct sub-assembly.

3. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a

      Screw <C>

      Remove the 3 screws <C> and No. 1 heater to register duct sub-assembly.

4. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

   
   

   1. 

      w/o Navigation System:

      
      

      1. Remove the No. 2 heater to register duct.

   2. 

      w/ Navigation System:

      
      

      1. Detach the clamp and remove the No. 2 heater to register duct.

5. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

6. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Connector
      *b	Screw <C>

      Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.

   2. Remove the 5 screws <C> and center instrument panel register assembly.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a

      Screw <C>

      Remove the 3 screws <C> and No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a

      Screw <C>

      Remove the 3 screws <C> and No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

9. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

   
   

   1. 

      for Driver Side:

      Remove the No. 2 instrument panel cushion.

   2. 

      for Passenger Side:

      Remove the No. 2 instrument panel cushion.

10. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the No. 3 instrument panel cushion.

11. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

    
    

    1. Remove the No. 1 instrument panel cushion.

       

12. REMOVE NO. 5 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION

    
    

    1. Remove the No. 5 instrument panel cushion.

       

13. REMOVE METER MOUNTING BRACKET

    
    
    1.

       Screw <C>

       for LH Side:

       
       

       1. Remove the screw <C> and meter mounting bracket.

    2. 

       *a

       Screw <C>

       for RH Side:

       
       

       1. Remove the screw <C> and meter mounting bracket.

14. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

    
    

    1. Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock.

    3. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly.

       Note

       When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER WITHOUT DOOR AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

    
    
    1. 

       *a

       Screw <C>

       Remove the 4 screws <C> and instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

17. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR CHECK CUSHION

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for both glove compartment door check cushions.
