COOLER EXPANSION VALVE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL COOLER EXPANSION VALVE


    1. Apply sufficient compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surfaces of the cooler expansion valve.

      Compressor Oil
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

    2. Install the 2 O-rings.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    3. Temporarily install the cooler expansion valve.

    4. Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, install the cooler expansion valve with the 2 hexagon bolts.

      Torque:
      3.5 N*m  { 36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf }

  2. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (for 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV)


    1. B003SB1

      Remove the vinyl tape from the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Apply sufficient compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surfaces of the cooler expansion valve.

      Compressor Oil
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

    3. Install the 2 O-rings.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    4. Connect the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

    5. Tighten the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  3. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (except 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV)

  4. CONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (except 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV)

      Remove the vinyl tape from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to new O-ring and fitting surface of the suction pipe sub-assembly.

      Compressor Oil
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

    3. Install the O-ring to the suction pipe sub-assembly.

      Note

      Keep the O-ring and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    4. Connect the suction pipe sub-assembly.

    5. Rotate the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and install the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  5. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (except 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV, w/ Sub-cool Accelerator)

  6. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT

  7. WARM UP ENGINE

  8. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK
