AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM(for Manual Cooler System) Air Conditioning Compressor Magnetic Clutch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The air conditioning amplifier assembly outputs the magnet clutch on request signal to the ECM. The ECM sends a magnet clutch on permission signal to the air conditioning amplifier assembly. The air conditioning amplifier assembly turns the magnet clutch on based on the signal.

1. READ VALUE USING GTS (A/C SIGNAL)

   
   

   1. Use the Data List to check if the magnet clutch on request signal is functioning properly.

   1. Remove the A/C COMP relay from the No. 4 instrument panel relay block assembly.

   2. Inspect the A/C COMP relay.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - BATTERY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

   2. 

      *a	Rear view of wire harness connector (to Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly)

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition G131-16 (MGC) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V G131-16 (MGC) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

   1. Remove the air conditioning amplifier assembly with its connectors still connected.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C COMP RELAY - COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH MAGNET CLUTCH AND BATTERY)

   
   

   1. Remove the magnet A/C COMP relay assembly from the No. 4 instrument panel junction block assembly.

   2. Disconnect the C3 compressor assembly with magnet clutch connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Relay terminal 3 - C3-1 (MG+) Always Below 1 Ω Relay terminal 3 or C3-1 (MG+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

   4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   2. Disconnect the G50*1 or G143*2 ECM connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
