Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
The procedures listed below are for RHD vehicles.
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the RH side.
PROCEDURE
PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH RH
REMOVE FRONT ARMREST ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Driver Side)
REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL (for Front Passenger Side)
REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG RH
REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH
Check that the ignition switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) terminal of the battery, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the door side airbag sensor RH. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) terminal of the battery is disconnected before performing this procedure.
Disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Push down the housing lock and slide the CPA. (At this time, the airbag connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

Push down the housing lock again and disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.
Remove the bolt.
Note
Loosen the bolt while holding the door side airbag sensor RH because the door side airbag sensor RH guide is easily damaged.
If the door side airbag sensor RH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.
Detach the guide and remove the door side airbag sensor RH.
