LIGHTING SYSTEM Engine Switch Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the engine switch illumination.

Note

Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to the Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Entry&Start > Active Test

  2. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH (ENGINE SWITCH ILLUMINATION)


    1. Remove the engine switch (engine switch illumination).


    2. Inspect the engine switch (engine switch illumination).


      OK
      Engine switch illumination is normal.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH (ENGINE SWITCH ILLUMINATION) - CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY])


    1. Disconnect the G45 engine switch (engine switch illumination) connector.

    2. Disconnect the G16 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G45-9 (SWIL) - G16-19 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      G45-6 (AGND) - G16-24 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      G45-9 (SWIL) or G16-19 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G45-6 (AGND) or G16-24 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
