LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION

    Tech Tips

    When inspecting the following functions, make sure that the map light switch, spot light switch and No. 1 room light switch are in the DOOR position.


    1. The interior light control illuminates the lights below.


      • Map light assembly

      • Spot light assembly

      • No. 1 room light assembly

      • Engine switch*1

      • Ignition key cylinder light*2


        • *1: w/ Smart Entry and Start System

        • *2: w/o Smart Entry and Start System

    2. The operations and operating conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

        When any of the following conditions is met:

      • Any door is unlocked when the ignition switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The ignition switch is turned from ACC to off when all the doors are closed.

      • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed and the ignition switch is off.

      Lights fade out immediately

        When either of the following conditions is met:

      • The ignition switch is turned from ACC to off when all the doors are closed.

      • All the doors are locked when the ignition switch is off, all the doors are closed and then any door is unlocked.

  2. BATTERY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION


    1. The battery saving control (basic function) illuminates the lights and parts below.


      • Map light assembly

      • Spot light assembly

      • No. 1 room light assembly

      • Engine switch*1

      • Ignition key cylinder light*2


        • *1: w/ Smart Entry and Start System

        • *2: w/o Smart Entry and Start System


      1. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Battery saving (basic function) When the doors remain in the same condition for 20 minutes and the engine switch is off, the illumination turns off.*1
        When the doors remain in the same condition for 20minutes and the key is not in the ignition keycylinder, the illumination turns off.*2

    2. The battery saving control (interior light auto cut function) illuminates the lights and parts below.


      • Map light assembly

      • Spot light assembly

      • No. 1 room light assembly

      • Vanity light assembly LH (w/ Vanity Light)

      • Front door courtesy light assembly LH (w/ Courtesy Light)

      • Front door courtesy light assembly RH (w/ Courtesy Light)

      • Rear door courtesy light assembly LH (w/ Courtesy Light)

      • Rear door courtesy light assembly RH (w/ Courtesy Light)


      1. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Battery saving (interior light auto cut function) 20 minutes has elapsed since the ignition switch was turned off, regardless of whether the doors are open or closed and regardless of the map light switch, spot light switch and No. 1 room light switch position.
