DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to vehicle conditions.

If the headlight leveling ECU assembly has been replaced, it is necessary to initialize the headlight leveling ECU assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motors.


      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Active Test

      Drive The Leveling Motor Leveling motor upward or downward operation Stop/Down/Up Perform the Active Test with the engine started and vehicle stopped

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR LH)


    1. Disconnect the G40 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A20 headlight leveling motor LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G40-11 (LH+) - A20-3 (LHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      G40-18 (LHT) - A20-2 (LH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      G40-24 (LH-) - A20-1 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      G40-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G40-18 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G40-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR LH


    1. Replace the headlight leveling motor LH with a new or known good one.

    2. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motor.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR RH)


    1. Disconnect the G40 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A19 headlight leveling motor RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G40-10 (RH+) - A19-3 (RHIG) Always Below 1 Ω
      G40-17 (RHT) - A19-2 (RH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      G40-23 (RH-) - A19-1 (RH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      G40-10 (RH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G40-17 (RHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G40-23 (RH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR RH
