TOYOTA PARKING ASSIST-SENSOR SYSTEM Reverse Signal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The clearance warning ECU assembly receives the reverse signal from the back-up light switch assembly*1 or park/neutral position switch assembly*2.

*1: for Manual Transmission

*2: for Automatic Transmission

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

      (to Clearance Warning ECU Assembly)

      Disconnect the clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G88-21 (RL) - Body ground
      • Ignition switch ON

      • Shift lever in R

      11 to 14 V
      G88-21 (RL) - Body ground
      • Ignition switch ON

      • Shift lever in any position other than R

      Below 1 V

  2. INSPECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the back-up light switch assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY AND BATTERY)


    1. Disconnect the G88 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the C11 back-up light switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G88-21 (RL) - C11-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      G88-21 (RL) or C11-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      C11-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    2. Disconnect the C22 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G88-21 (RL) - C22-1 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      G88-21 (RL) or C22-1 (RL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
