PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (OPERATION CHECK)


    1. B003O2A

      Enter the "Vehicle Signal Check Mode" screen. Refer to Check Vehicle Signal in Operation Check.

    2. Check that the display changes between ON and OFF according to the parking brake operation.

      Tech Tips

      This display is updated once per second. As a result, it is normal for the display to lag behind the actual parking brake operation.

  2. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the parking brake switch assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G100 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the N5 parking brake switch assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G100-15 (PKB) - N5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      G100-15 (PKB) or N5-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
