PROCEDURE


  1. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

  6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering wheel set nut.

      *a Matchmark
      *b Hold
      *c Turn

      Put matchmarks on the steering wheel and steering main shaft.

    3. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

      SST
      09950-50013   ( 09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021 )

      Note

      Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tip of SST (09953-05020) before use.

  7. REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER (for GD Series Engine)

    1. Remove the 2 screws and the steering shake damper.

  8. REMOVE LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER (w/o Steering Heater)


    1. w/o Shift Paddle Switch

        Detach the 2 guide pins and 4 claws to remove the lower steering wheel boss cover.

    2. w/ Shift Paddle Switch


      1. B003PTS

        Remove the 2 screws.

      2. Detach the 2 guide pins and 4 claws to remove the lower steering wheel boss cover.
