POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Remote Up / Down Function does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the ignition switch ON, the power window regulator master switch assembly sends remote up and down signals to each power window regulator motor assembly via LIN communication.

  • If the body ECU has been replaced, it is necessary to initialize the body ECU.

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and body ECU, first perform the inspections to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the body ECU before performing this troubleshooting procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LIN BUS CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the G33 body ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the J5 power window regulator master switch connector.

    3. Disconnect the K9 front power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

    4. Disconnect the M4 rear power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

    5. Disconnect the L4 rear power window regulator motor assembly LH connector.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G33-3 (LIN2) - J5-17 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G33-3 (LIN2) - K9-9 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G33-3 (LIN2) - M4-9 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G33-3 (LIN2) - L4-9 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G33-3 (LIN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J5-17 (LIN1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K9-9 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M4-9 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L4-9 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  2. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the power window regulator master switch assembly.

    2. Check that the remote up and down functions using the power window regulator master switch assembly can operate all the power windows.
