REAR WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

      *a Lip Portion

      Apply MP grease to the entire circumference of the lip portion of the rear wiper motor grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Do not fill the hole with MP grease. Only apply MP grease to the grooves of the lip portion.

      B003OFB Install in this Direction

      Install the rear wiper motor grommet with its alignment mark aligned with the top of the vehicle.

  2. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. B003PFVC01
      B003R2S Bolt
      B003LF2 Connector

      Install the rear wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY

      *a Rear Wiper Arm Serrations
      *b Rear Wiper Motor Assembly Pivot Serrations

      When reinstalling:

      Note

      Do not grind the rear wiper arm serrations.


      1. Clean the rear wiper arm serrations.

      2. Clean the rear wiper motor assembly pivot serrations.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Operate the rear wiper motor assembly and stop at the automatic stop (park) position.

    4. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *a Defogger Line at the Bottom
      *b 7.5 mm (0.2953 in.)

      Align the rear wiper arm and blade assembly as shown in the illustration and install it with the nut.

      Torque:
      8.4 N*m  { 86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the arm hinge by hand when tightening the nut.

    6. Operate the rear wiper motor assembly while spraying washer fluid on the glass. Make sure that the rear wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

    7. Raise the rear wiper arm 2 times and check that the tip of the rear wiper blade is within the range shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

      Attach the claw to the rear wiper arm and blade assembly.

      B003OFB Install in this Direction

      Attach the claw to install the rear wiper arm head cap as shown in the illustration.
