LIGHTING SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM

    When the headlight dimmer switch (light control switch) is in the AUTO position, the automatic light control system detects ambient light levels and controls the lights.

  2. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM

    The light auto turn-off system is used to prevent the driver from leaving the vehicle with the lights on. When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights turn off:


    • The lights are on.

    • The ignition switch is turned from ON to off.

    • The driver door is opened.

  3. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM


    1. The daytime running light system is designed to automatically illuminate the clearance lights, during the daytime to make the car more visible to other vehicles.


      • The combination meter assembly controls this system.

      • This system is enabled when the conditions below are met:


        • The ignition switch is ON.


        • An engine speed signal is input (the engine is running).


        • The parking brake is released.


        • The headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position (and the low beam headlights are not turned on via the automatic light control system).

  4. FOLLOW ME HOME SYSTEM


    1. The follow me home system is designed to illuminate the low beam headlights for a certain period of time after the vehicle is parked.


      1. This system is controlled by the body ECU.

      2. This system is enabled when the following conditions are met:


        • The ignition switch is off.

        • The headlight dimmer switch (light control switch) is in the AUTO position.

        • The headlight dimmer switch is pulled to flash the headlights once.

  5. LANE CHANGE FLASHER SYSTEM


    • When moving the headlight dimmer switch (turn signal switch) to the lane change position (it is not necessary to hold the switch) during a lane change, the turn signal light flashes a specified number of times.

    • While the turn signal light is flashing after the headlight dimmer switch (turn signal switch) is moved to the lane change position (it is not necessary to hold the switch), the turn signal light turns off if the headlight dimmer switch (turn signal switch) is moved in the opposite direction.

    • The combination meter controls this system.

  6. EMERGENCY BRAKE SIGNAL (w/ VSC)

    During emergency braking, the emergency brake signal flashes the hazard warning lights to alert other drivers and reduce the possibility of a rear-end collision.
