PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL MOTOR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. B003QQNC05
      *1 Shift Fork
      *a 2WD Side
      *b 4WD Side
      *c 12 mm (0.472 in.)

Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2.

      Standard
      0.1 to 100 Ω
    2. Measure the resistance between terminal 1 or 2 and body ground.

      Standard
      5 MΩ or more

If the result is not as specified, replace the differential motor actuator.

    3. Check the actuator using one of the following methods.

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Measurement Condition Specified Condition
        3 (ADD) - 4 (GND)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        Below 1 Ω
        3 (ADD) - 4 (GND)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

        10 kΩ or higher
        4 (GND) - 5 (DL2)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        Below 1 Ω
        4 (GND) - 5 (DL2)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

        10 kΩ or higher
        4 (GND) - 6 (DL1)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        Below 1 Ω
        4 (GND) - 6 (DL1)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

        10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the differential motor actuator assembly.

      2. Check the actuator status.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        2WD → 4WD

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

        4WD → 2WD

If the result is not as specified, replace the differential motor actuator assembly.
