DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when a malfunction is detected due to a battery short occurring in the differential lock coil drive circuit of the rear differential.

  • Diagnosis Condition: Directly after ignition switch is turned to ON, or when rear differential is switched between free and locked (differential lock coil operating) with ignition switch turned to ON

  • Malfunction Status: Battery short in differential lock coil drive circuit

  • Malfunction Time: 0.05 seconds or more

  • Other: 1 trip detection logic

  • 4 wheel drive control ECU

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK COIL


    1. Disconnect the C61 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      C61-1 (SL+) or C61-5 (SL-) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU - DIFFERENTIAL LOCK COIL)


    1. Disconnect the C61 4 wheel drive control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the e1 differential lock coil connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C61-1 (SL+) or e1-2 (M1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      C61-5 (SL-) or e1-1 (M2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
