REAR AXLE HUB BOLT REPLACEMENT

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

  3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  4. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB BOLT

      *A for Rear Drum Brake
      *B for Rear Disc Brake
      *a Turn
      *b Hold
      *c Nut

      Temporarily install 2 nuts to the 2 rear axle hub bolts as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using SST and a brass bar or equivalent to hold the rear axle shaft, remove the rear axle hub bolt.

  5. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB BOLT


    1. B003KX5C01
      *A for Rear Drum Brake
      *B for Rear Disc Brake
      *a Turn
      *b Hold
      *c Plate Washer
      *d Nut

      Install a plate washer and nut to a new rear axle hub bolt as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a brass bar or equivalent to hold the rear axle shaft, install the rear axle hub bolt by tightening the nut.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts from the 2 rear axle hub bolts.

  6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  7. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)
