Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
PROCEDURE
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
DISCONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH
Detach the clamp.
Remove the bolt and harness clamp.
Detach the clamp.
Remove the bolt and front speed sensor LH from the steering knuckle LH.
Note
Keep the sensor tip and sensor installation hole free from foreign matter.
Remove the bolt and skid control sensor clamp from the steering knuckle LH.
REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE FRONT DISC
REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP (for 4WD)
REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH (for 4WD)
DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
Remove the nut and disconnect the front stabilizer link assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.
Tech Tips
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud in place.
DISCONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
DISCONNECT FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the front lower No. 1 suspension arm assembly LH from the steering knuckle.
DISCONNECT FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
Remove the clip and nut.

Using SST, disconnect the front upper suspension arm assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.
REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB DUST SEAL (for 4WD)
Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap out the front axle hub dust seal.
REMOVE KNUCKLE GREASE RETAINER CAP LH (for Pre-Runner)
Using a screwdriver and hammer, remove the knuckle grease retainer cap LH.
REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH
Remove the 4 bolts, dust cover and front axle hub sub-assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.
Remove the O-ring from the front axle hub sub-assembly LH.
