PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY(for TSAM Made) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT GUARD

   
   

   1. for Pre-Runner:

      
      

      1. 

         for Transmission side:

         Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

      2. 

         for Center support bearing side:

         Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

   2. for 4WD:

      
      

      1. 

         for Transfer side:

         Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

      2. 

         for Center support bearing side:

         Remove the 2 bolts and propeller shaft guard.

2. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Pre-Runner)

   
   

   1.

      Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

   2. 

      *a

      Matchmark

      for 1GD-FTV (RC61), 2GD-FTV (RC60) and 1KD-FTV (RC61):

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange, differential torsional damper and differential flange.

   3. Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers and disconnect the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

   4. 

      Remove the 2 set bolts of the center support bearing from the frame crossmember.

   5. Pull out the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

      Note

      When pulling out the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly, make sure that transmission fluid does not leak from the extension housing.

      Tech Tips

      Transmission fluid may leak from the extension housing there fore, use a container to catch the fluid.

   6. 

      for 1GD-FTV (RC61), 2GD-FTV (RC60) and 1KD-FTV (RC61):

      Remove the differential torsional damper.

3. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

   
   

   1.

      Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and transfer flange.

   2. Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers and disconnect the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

   3.

      Matchmark

      except 1GR-FE (AC60F):

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and differential flange.

   4.

      Matchmark

      for 1GR-FE(AC60F):

      Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange, differential mass damper and differential flange.

   5. Remove the 4 nuts and 4 washers.

   6. 

      Remove the 2 set bolts of the center support bearing from the frame crossmember.

   7. Remove the propeller shaft with center bearing assembly.

   8. 

      for 1GR-FE(AC60F):

      Remove the differential mass damper.
