  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Note


      • Do not disconnect the flexible hose from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      • Do not twist or bend the flexible hose.

  3. REMOVE REAR DISC (for TSAM Made)

  4. REMOVE REAR DISC (except TSAM Made)

    Click here

  5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING

      Remove the 2 parking brake shoe return tension springs.

      Note

      Be sure to put an identification mark on each parking brake shoe return tension spring so that it can be reinstalled to its original position.

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

      B003OFB Push and Turn in this Direction

      Using SST, remove the 2 parking brake shoe hold down spring cups and parking brake shoe hold down spring to disconnect the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly LH from the backing plate.

  7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT LH

      B003OFB Pull in this Direction

      Pull the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly LH towards the front of the vehicle by hand as shown in the illustration.

    2. B003RKR

      Remove the parking brake shoe strut LH.

  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT COMPRESSION SPRING

      Remove the parking brake shoe strut compression spring.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

      B003OFB Push and Turn in this Direction

      Using SST, remove the 2 parking brake shoe hold down spring cups and parking brake shoe hold down spring to disconnect the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly LH from the backing plate.

  10. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET

      B003OFB Expand in this Direction

      Pull the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly LH and No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly LH open by hand, and then pull them downward off the vehicle.

      Remove the parking brake shoe adjusting screw set.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH

      Disconnect the parking brake shoe return tension spring to remove the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly LH.

  12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING

      Remove the parking brake shoe return tension spring from the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH WITH PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER

      Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake shoe lever as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

  14. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH

      B003OFB Remove in this Direction

      Remove the C-washer, shim and parking brake shoe lever LH from the No. 1 parking brake shoe assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

  15. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE HOLD DOWN SPRING PIN

      for Front Side:


      1. Remove the parking brake shoe hold down spring pin.

      for Rear Side:


      1. Remove the parking brake shoe hold down spring pin

  16. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE GUIDE PLATE

      Remove the parking brake shoe guide plate set bolt and parking brake shoe guide plate.
