CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Clutch Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

While depressing the clutch pedal, the clutch switch sends a signal to terminal D of the ECM. The ECM cancels cruise control when terminal D receives the signal.

    1. Remove the clutch switch assembly.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

      Disconnect the clutch switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B1-1 - Body ground Ignition Switch ON 11 to 14 V
      B1-1 - Body ground Ignition Switch off Below 1 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. for 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV


      1. Disconnect the B1 clutch switch assembly connector.

      2. Disconnect the C38 ECM connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        B1-2 - C38-14 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
        B1-2 or C38-14 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. for 2TR-FE


      1. Disconnect the B1 clutch switch assembly connector.

      2. Disconnect the G142 ECM connector.

      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        B1-2 - G142-18 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
        B1-2 or G142-18 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
