THERMOSTAT REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

Do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly, cylinder block drain cock plugs or radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  3. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET


    1. Slide the hose clamp and disconnect the radiator hose outlet from the water inlet.

  4. REMOVE WATER INLET

    1. Disconnect the power steering oil pressure switch connector.

      Remove the 2 nuts, bolt, water inlet and gasket.

  5. REMOVE THERMOSTAT


    1. Remove the thermostat from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the gasket from the thermostat.
