WATER PUMP REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

Do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly, cylinder block drain cock plugs or radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE INLET

    Click here

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET

    Click here

  5. DISCONNECT AIR PUMP INLET (w/ Secondary Air Injection System)

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the air pump inlet from the fan shroud.

  6. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR

  7. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

  8. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY


  9. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE


    1. Remove the engine oil level dipstick.

    2. Remove the bolt, engine oil level dipstick guide and O-ring.

      Tech Tips

      Cover the guide hole to prevent foreign matter from entering it.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt, No. 1 idler pulley sub-assembly and spacer.

  11. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.

  12. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 10 bolts, engine water pump assembly and gasket.
