VACUUM PUMP(for 1GD-FTV, 2GD-FTV) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP UNION


    1. B003QR5

      Install the 2 new gaskets and the vacuum pump union with the union bolt.

      Torque:
      13.7 N*m  { 140 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Check that the stopper of the vacuum pump union with union is securely held on the vacuum pump assembly.

  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT OIL SEAL RETAINER


    1. Install the camshaft oil seal retainer to the vacuum pump assembly.

  3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. When using new vacuum pump assembly:


      1. B003RUIC01
        *1 No. 2 O-ring
        *2 No. 3 O-ring
        B003R2S Engine oil

        Apply engine oil to the No. 2 O-ring and No. 3 O-ring installed in a new vacuum pump assembly.

    2. When reusing vacuum pump assembly:


      1. B003RUIC01
        *1 No. 2 O-ring
        *2 No. 3 O-ring
        B003R2S Engine oil

        Install a new No. 2 O-ring and No. 3 O-ring to the vacuum pump assembly.

      2. Apply engine oil to the No. 2 O-ring and No. 3 O-ring installed in a vacuum pump assembly.

      B003OFB Install in this Direction

      Temporarily install the vacuum pump assembly.

      Note

      Do not insert the vacuum pump assembly into the camshaft until the No. 3 camshaft bearing cap is installed.

  4. INSTALL NO. 3 CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP

  5. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the vacuum pump assembly so that the oil pipe engages with the hole of the camshaft and the coupling teeth with the grooves on the camshaft tip.

      Note


      • Ensure that the vacuum pump assembly is installed securely.

      • Be careful not to pinch the O-ring.

    2. Install the vacuum pump assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      After installation, check that there are no gaps between the matching surfaces and that the vacuum pump assembly is not installed at an angle.

  6. CONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 1 vacuum transmitting hose to the vacuum pump assembly.

  7. CONNECT UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE


    1. Connect the union to connector tube hose, and slide the clamp to secure it.

  8. INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
