PROCEDURE
CONNECT GTS
Connect the GTS to the DLC3 with the ignition switch off.
Start the engine and run it at idle.
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Active Test.
Tech Tips
Refer to the GTS operator's manual for further details.
INSPECT ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION
Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Active Test / Motor Relay.
Tester Display
---
Motor Relay
Turn the motor relay on and check for actuator motor operation sounds.
Note
Do not keep the motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. If it needs to be operated repeatedly, wait an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
Turn the motor relay off.
Fully depress the brake pedal and hold it for approximately 15 seconds. Check that the initial pedal depth is maintained for the entire 15 seconds.
Turn the motor relay on and check that the brake pedal does not pulsate.
Note
Do not keep the motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. If it needs to be operated repeatedly, wait an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
Turn the motor relay off and release the brake pedal.
CHECK RIGHT FRONT WHEEL OPERATION
Note
Be sure to follow the procedures below when turning on a solenoid.
Do not keep a solenoid on for more than 5 seconds. When operating it consecutively, wait 20 seconds between each operation.
The pedal must not be depressed if only the reduction solenoid SFRR, SFLR or SRRR is turned on.
Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Active Test / ABS Solenoid.
Tester Display
---
ABS Solenoid
Depress the brake pedal and hold it.
Note
Do not turn on a solenoid in a manner different than that shown in the following steps.
Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids on simultaneously and check that the brake pedal cannot be depressed further.
Note
Each solenoid operates for 2 seconds and turns off automatically. If a solenoid needs to be operated repeatedly, wait an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
Turn the SFRH and SFRR solenoids off simultaneously and check that the brake pedal can be depressed.
With the brake pedal still depressed, enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Active Test / Motor Relay.
Tester Display
---
Motor Relay
Turn the motor relay on and check that the brake pedal returns.
Note
Do not keep the motor relay on continuously for more than 5 seconds. If it needs to be operated repeatedly, wait an interval of more than 20 seconds between operations.
Turn the motor relay off and release the brake pedal.
CHECK OTHER WHEEL OPERATION
Using the same procedure, check the solenoids of the other wheels.
