REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE(for Rear Disc Brake) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 5 FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 5 flexible hose bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL NO. 6 FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 6 flexible hose bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL REAR BRAKE TUBE FLEXIBLE HOSE


    1. Connect the rear brake tube flexible hose to the connecting point with each brake tube, and then install 2 new clips.

    2. B003N95C03
      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Using a union nut wrench, connect the rear brake tube flexible hose to the brake tube while holding the rear brake tube flexible hose with a wrench.

      Torque:
      Specified tightening torque
      15.2 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips


      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

      • When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.8661 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 162 mm (6.3779 in.)): 13.4 N*m (137 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)

      Note


      • Do not bend or damage the brake tube.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting point.

    3. Connect the flexible hose to the connecting point with each brake tube, and then install 2 new clips.

      Using a union nut wrench, connect each brake tube to the flexible hose while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.

      Torque:
      Specified tightening torque
      15.2 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH


    1. Connect the rear flexible hose to the connecting point with the brake tube, and then install a new clip.

      Using a union nut wrench, connect the brake tube to the rear flexible hose while holding the rear flexible hose with a wrench.

      Torque:
      Specified tightening torque
      15.2 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the rear flexible hose LH and a new gasket to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH with the new union bolt.

      Torque:
      31 N*m  { 316 kgf*cm, 23 ft.*lbf }
