EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the air fuel ratio sensor, exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH, exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH, front exhaust pipe assembly and front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER APRON SEAL LH

  2. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER APRON SEAL RH

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SEAL LH

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SEAL RH

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. B003KVI

      Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

    2. Detach the 2 clamps.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and 2 nuts.

    4. Disconnect the No. 1 exhaust pipe support and remove the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 gaskets.

  7. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)


  8. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 manifold stay.

  9. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

      Remove the 6 nuts, exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH and gasket.

  10. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)

  11. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. Remove the 3 bolts and manifold stay.

  12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

      Remove the 6 nuts, exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH and gasket.

  13. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)
