PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A01W9L2

      Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from terminal C.

    2. A01WAHR

      Remove the 2 nuts from the repair service starter kit while holding the magnet starter switch assembly.

    3. A01W9PU

      Pull the magnet starter switch assembly and, while lifting the front part of the magnet starter switch assembly, release the plunger hook from the starter pinion drive lever and remove the magnet starter switch assembly.

  2. REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

      Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts.

    2. A01WAZL

      Remove the starter yoke assembly and starter commutator end frame assembly from the repair service starter kit.

    3. A01W83S

      Remove the starter armature plate from the starter yoke assembly or repair service starter kit.

    4. A01W9T5

      Remove the 3 planetary gears from the repair service starter kit.

    5. A01W8XE

      Remove the rubber seal from the repair service starter kit.

  3. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01W98H

      Remove the 2 screws from the starter commutator end frame assembly.

    2. A01W8ZM

      Remove the starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

      Note

      While holding down the lead wire, remove the starter commutator end frame assembly.

    3. A01W8QR

      Remove the starter brush holder assembly from the starter armature assembly.

  4. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01W9RJ

      Remove the starter armature assembly from the starter yoke assembly.
