PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT WATER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH THERMOSTAT

    A01SAH0

    Tech Tips

The valve opening temperature is inscribed on the thermostat.

    1. Immerse the thermostat in the water, then heat the water gradually.

      CAUTION:

      B00251Z

      • Do not your hands into the water that has been heated for the inspection.

      • Touching the heated water could result in burns.

    2. Check the valve opening temperature of the thermostat.

      Standard valve opening temperature
      80 to 84°C (176 to 183°F)

If the valve opening temperature is not as specified, replace the water inlet sub-assembly with thermostat.

      *a Valve Lift

      Check the valve lift.

      Standard valve lift
      8.0 mm (0.315 in.) or more at 95°C (203°F)

If the valve lift is not as specified, replace the water inlet sub-assembly with thermostat.

    4. Check that the valve is fully closed when the thermostat is at low temperature (below 40°C (104°F)).

If not fully closed, replace the water inlet sub-assembly with thermostat.
