DESCRIPTION
To compensate for the change in injection volume and injection timing caused by the variance in the injection or supply pump assembly itself, a correction is made by using the data that is stored in the ROM in the injection pump correction unit.

Although the determining process is completed without a problem, the ECM conducts the communication again if an undefined code is found while checking an identification code of the receiving data. If the undefined code was duplicated 20 times in a row, the ECM outputs the DTC. |

Tech Tips
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
PROCEDURE
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - INJECTION PUMP CORRECTION UNIT)
Disconnect the injection pump correction unit connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

READ DTC OUTPUT (DTC P1670 IS OUTPUT AGAIN)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Clear the DTC.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs.
