AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM Automatic High Beam Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects auto high beam switch signals.

The automatic high beam system can be turned on and off by operating the auto high beam switch.

If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (AUTO HIGH BEAM MAIN SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List
      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Auto High Beam Main Switch Auto high beam switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: Auto high beam switch pressed

      OFF: Auto high beam switch not pressed

  2. INSPECT AUTO HIGH BEAM SWITCH


    1. Remove the auto high beam switch.

    2. Inspect the auto high beam switch.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUTO HIGH BEAM SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU [MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU] AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the G55 auto high beam switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the G62 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G55-4 - G62-23 (AHBI) Always Below 1 Ω
      G55-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G55-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
