Tech Tips
Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.
Note
In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

ACTIVE TEST
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Automatic High Beam / Active Test.
According to the display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.

*: Perform the following procedure to check operations.
Set the Active Test to "ON" and check that the indicator of the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor) blinks.
Make the area surrounding the vehicle dark (to the point of activating the automatic high beam system) and check that the high beam headlights illuminate.
With the high beam headlights illuminated, shine a light (flashlight, white LED, red LED, etc.) on the camera lens of the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor) and check that it changes to low beam operation.
Note
Depending on how the light is shined on the sensor or if the area surrounding the vehicle is bright, the low beam or high beam headlights may not illuminate.
