LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Turn the headlight dimmer switch (light control switch) to the AUTO position.

    3. Cover the automatic light control sensor.

    4. Check that the taillights and headlights come on.

    5. Uncover the automatic light control sensor.

    6. Check that the headlights and taillights turn off.

  2. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


    1. Prepare the vehicle so that the engine switch on (IG) and the driver door is closed.

    2. Set the headlight dimmer switch (light control switch) to the tail, head or AUTO position to illuminate the lights.

    3. Turn the engine switch off and open the driver door, front passenger door or slide door. Check that the headlights, front fog lights, rear fog lights*, taillights, clearance lights and license plate lights turn off.

  3. CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT FUNCTION (w/ Cornering Light)


    1. Start the engine.

    2. Release the parking brake.

    3. Brighten the area surrounding the automatic light control sensor.

    4. Set the headlight dimmer switch to AUTO and check that the daytime running light illuminates (brighter than the clearance light).

  4. CHECK FOLLOW ME HOME SYSTEM (w/ Follow Me Home System)


    1. The follow me home system is designed to illuminate the low beam headlights for approximately 30 seconds after the vehicle is parked.


      1. This system is controlled by the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

      2. This system is enabled when the following conditions are met:


        • The engine switch is off.

        • The light control switch is in the off or AUTO position.

        • The light control switch is pulled to flash the headlights once.
