OUTER MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)
      *b	Mirror Retract Switch
      *c	Mirror Select Switch and Mirror Surface Adjust Switch

      Check the mirror retract switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 17 (MAT) - 18 (E) 11 (MR) - 18 (E) Extended position 10 kΩ or higher 17 (MAT) - 18 (E) AUTO position Below 1 Ω 11 (MR) - 18 (E) Retracted position Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   2. Check the mirror select switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 15 (MSW) - 16 (E) R Below 10 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher L 90 to 110 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   3. Check the mirror surface adjust switch.

      
      

      1. Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for left side)
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 13 (M+) - 16 (E) Up 90 to 110 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Down 437 to 503 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Left 744 to 856 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Right 225 to 275 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for right side)
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 13 (M+) - 16 (E) Up 90 to 110 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Down 437 to 503 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Left 744 to 856 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Right 225 to 275 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RHD, w/ Memory)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)
      *b	Mirror Retract Switch
      *c	Mirror Select Switch and Mirror Surface Adjust Switch

      Check the retract switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 11 (MAT) - 10 (E) 17 (MR) - 10 (E) Extended position 10 kΩ or higher 11 (MAT) - 10 (E) AUTO position Below 1 Ω 17 (MR) - 10 (E) Retracted position Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   2. Check the mirror select switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 13 (MSW) - 12 (E) R Below 10 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher L 90 to 110 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   3. Check the mirror surface adjust switch.

      
      

      1. Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for left side)
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 15 (M+) - 12 (E) Up 90 to 110 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Down 437 to 503 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Left 744 to 856 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Right 225 to 275 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for right side)
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 15 (M+) - 12 (E) Up 90 to 110 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Down 437 to 503 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Left 744 to 856 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher Right 225 to 275 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

3. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RHD, w/o Memory)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)
      *b	Mirror Retract Switch
      *c	Mirror Select Switch and Mirror Surface Adjust Switch

      Check the retract switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (MAT) - 1 (E) 4 (MR) - 1 (E) Extended position 10 kΩ or higher 2 (MAT) - 1 (E) AUTO position Below 1 Ω 4 (MR) - 1 (E) Retracted position Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   2. Check the mirror select switch and mirror surface adjust switch.

      
      

      1. Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for left side)
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 15 (B) - 12 (VL) 7 (E) - 9 (M+) Up Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher 15 (B) - 9 (M+) 7 (E) - 12 (VL) Down Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher 15 (B) - 13 (HL) 7 (E) - 9 (M+) Left Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher 15 (B) - 9 (M+) 7 (E) - 13 (HL) Right Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for right side)
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 15 (B) - 10 (VR) 7 (E) - 9 (M+) Up Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher 15 (B) - 9 (M+) 7 (E) - 10 (VR) Down Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher 15 (B) - 11 (HR) 7 (E) - 9 (M+) Left Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher 15 (B) - 9 (M+) 7 (E) - 11 (HR) Right Below 1 Ω Off 10 kΩ or higher

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.
