    Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to N are within the standard ranges.

      A 2.2 to 7.2 mm (0.087 to 0.283 in.) B -0.9 to 4.1 mm (-0.035 to 0.161 in.)
      C 4.85 to 9.85 mm (0.191 to 0.388 in.) D 0.25 to 5.25 mm (0.010 to 0.207 in.)
      E 4.85 to 9.85 mm (0.191 to 0.388 in.) F 0.05 to 5.05 mm (0.002 to 0.199 in.)
      G 4.85 to 9.85 mm (0.191 to 0.388 in.) H 0.25 to 5.25 mm (0.010 to 0.207 in.)
      I 2.2 to 7.2 mm (0.087 to 0.283 in.) J -0.4 to 4.6 mm (-0.016 to 0.181 in.)
      K 7.3 to 10.3 mm (0.287 to 0.406 in.) L 0.2 to 3.2 mm (0.008 to 0.126 in.)
      M 7.1 to 10.1 mm (0.280 to 0.398 in.) N 0.3 to 3.3 mm (0.012 to 0.130 in.)

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR STRIKER COVER

      Using moulding remover A, detach the claw.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the back door striker cover.

  3. ADJUST BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IFQ5

      Before adjusting the upper end of the back door up and down or left and right, loosen the bolts.

    2. Tighten the hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

    4. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL BACK DOOR STRIKER COVER

      Attach the guide and claw to install the back door striker cover.
