DESCRIPTION


The back door motor unit*1 or multiplex network door ECU*2 receives signals from the half latch switch, initial switch, pawl switch and back door courtesy switch, which are built into the back door lock assembly. Based on these switch signals, the latch position of the back door lock assembly is determined.

  2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the back door lock assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - BACK DOOR MOTOR UNIT AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the U9 back door lock assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K22 back door motor unit connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U9-8 (CTY) - K22-20 (FUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      U9-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      U9-8 (CTY) or K22-20 (FUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the U9 back door lock assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K21 multiplex network door ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U9-8 (CTY) - K21-12 (FUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      U9-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      U9-8 (CTY) or K21-12 (FUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
