FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
When the slide door motor unit (power slide door ECU) detects a malfunction, it switches to power slide door stop control to protect the system.
| Slide Door Condition | Malfunction Description | Fail-safe |
|---|---|---|
| During operation condition determination | Open circuit in the power slide door sensor assembly*1 | Switches to power brake control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds*2 |
| Slide door drive motor position malfunction | Switches to intermittent clutch control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds*3 | |
| During a slide door open/close operation | Open circuit in the power slide door sensor assembly*4 | Switches to power brake control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds |
| Slide door drive motor position malfunction | Switches to intermittent clutch control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds | |
| Slide door drive motor continues operating past the set limit (overtime) | Switches to power brake control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds | |
| Magnetic clutch continues operating past the set limit (overtime) | Switches to power brake control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds | |
| Slide door drive motor current detection circuit malfunction | Switches to power brake control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds | |
| Pulse sensor malfunction | Switches to intermittent clutch control after the buzzer sounds for 3 seconds |
*1: Only while slide door close operation start conditions are being judged.
*2: The system switches to power brake control when an open/close operation using the slide door handle is performed.
*3: The system switches to intermittent clutch control when an open /close operation using the slide door handle is performed.
*4: Only during a slide door close operation.
