  2. POWER SLIDE DOOR SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. The power slide door system performs the following controls.

      Control Description
      Automatic Open/Close Control

The slide door automatically opens or closes when any of the following is operated.

      • Map light assembly

        • Slide door open switch

        • Slide door close switch

      • Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly

        • Power slide door switch

      • Slide door inside handle

      • Slide door outside handle

      • One-touch switch

      Jam Protection Function
      • During an automatic open/close operation, the slide door motor unit (power slide door ECU) detects excessive load on the slide door, determined by changes in the current coming from the slide door drive motor, and reverses and stops the power slide door open/close operation.

      • During an automatic close operation, the slide door motor unit (power slide door ECU) reverses and stops the power slide door close operation based on signals from the power slide door sensor assembly.

      Interrupt Control

When any of the following is operated during an automatic open/close operation, the slide door stops operating and the magnetic clutch is engaged.

      • Map light assembly

        • Slide door open switch

        • Slide door close switch

      • Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly

        • Power slide door switch

      • Slide door inside handle

      • Slide door outside handle

      • One-touch switch

Brake Control When movement speed of the slide door exceeds the specified value, the magnetic clutch is operated to reduce slide door movement speed.
      Power Brake Control

Under the following conditions, when the system changes to manual mode (manual opening and closing of the slide door), and when movement speed of the slide door exceeds the specified value, the magnetic clutch is operated to reduce slide door movement speed.

      • The operation conditions are not met during a slide door open operation

      • The operation conditions are not met during a slide door close operation

      • A certain period of time elapses after interrupt control starts

      • The power slide door main switch is turned off during interrupt control

Intermittent Clutch Control During a slide door open/close operation, when the slide door motor unit (power slide door ECU) detects a malfunction in the pulse sensor, it intermittently operates the magnetic clutch to reduce slide door movement speed.
Door Movement Speed Control Door movement speed is slowed, as jam load drops just before the door finishes opening or closing.

  3. SLIDE DOOR SYSTEM FUNCTIONS

    Function Description
Easy Closer Function The slide door automatically closes when left ajar.
Wireless One Motion Function* When the slide door is locked, operating the power slide door switch on the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly will unlock the slide door and begin an open operation.
Smart One Motion Function* When the slide door is locked, operating the one-touch switch while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly will unlock all the doors and begin a slide door open operation.
Reservation Lock Function With a slide door close operation in progress and the other doors closed, performing a door lock operation with the touch sensor on the front door handle or the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly will lock the slide door after it finishes the close operation.
    Pop Up Assist Function
    • When the inside or outside handle of the slide door is operated while the door is fully closed, if the slide door does not become ajar because the slide door is stuck, etc. (the latch is not released), the slide door motor unit (power slide door motor) is driven to assist door opening.

    • After performing a pop up assist operation, if the slide door motor unit (power slide door ECU) cannot detect that the slide door is ajar, a buzzer sounds for approximately 3 seconds and the closer motor operates.
