SLIDING ROOF HOUSING DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF LOCK CATCH PLATE RH

      B006N8A Remove in this Direction

      Detach the claw and remove the sliding roof lock catch plate RH from the sliding roof housing sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      The sliding roof lock catch plate is used when the vehicle is assembled at the factory and is not needed for reinstallation.

  2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF LOCK CATCH PLATE LH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the RH side.

  3. REMOVE REMOVABLE ROOF HOUSING SIDE MOUNTING BRACKET RH

    Note

    Do not disassemble the removable roof housing side mounting bracket RH except when replacing it.


    1. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    2. A01UCQME01

      Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 4 mm (0.157 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Tape the drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

      Standard
      Area Specified Condition
      A 4 mm (0.157 in.)
    3. Lightly press the drill against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the 2 rivets and remove the removable roof housing side mounting bracket RH.

      CAUTION:

      Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

      Note


      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.

      • Do not pry the rivet with the drill because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivet or the drill bit.

    4. Remove the rivet fragments and shavings.

  4. REMOVE REMOVABLE ROOF HOUSING SIDE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

    Note

    Do not disassemble the removable roof housing side mounting bracket LH except when replacing it.


    1. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

    2. A01UCEQE01

      Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 4 mm (0.157 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Tape the drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

      A 4 mm (0.157 in.)
    3. Lightly press the drill against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the 2 rivets and remove the removable roof housing side mounting bracket LH.

    4. Remove the rivet fragments and shavings.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 REMOVABLE ROOF BRACKET

    Note

    Do not disassemble the removable roof housing side mounting bracket LH except when replacing it.

    Tech Tips


    • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

    • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


    1. Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.

      Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 4 mm (0.157 in.) from the tip of the drill as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Tape the drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Lightly press the drill against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the 2 rivets and remove the No. 2 removable roof bracket.

      CAUTION:

      Be careful of the drilled rivet as it may become hot.

    4. Remove the rivet fragments and shavings.

  6. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and sliding roof drive gear assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 SUNSHADE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01UEP2

      Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the claw and guide and remove the sliding roof drain hose joint RH.

    3. A01UFG2

      Remove the screw.

    4. Detach the claw and guide and remove the sliding roof drain hose joint LH.

      B006N8A Remove in this Direction

      Slide and remove the No. 2 sunshade trim sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE REAR ROOF DRIP CHANNEL

      B006PCE Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      B006N8A Remove in this Direction

      Slide and remove the rear roof drip channel as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE CABLE RH

    Note

    Do not disassemble the sliding roof drive cable sub-assembly except when replacing it.

      Using a screwdriver, slide and remove the sliding roof drive cable RH as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  10. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE CABLE LH

      Using a screwdriver, slide and remove the sliding roof drive cable LH as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  11. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE BLOCK RH

      B006PCE Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, detach the claw in the order shown in the illustration and remove the sliding roof guide block RH.

      Note

      Make sure not to apply excessive pressure.

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  12. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GUIDE BLOCK LH
