CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the tilt roof housing sub-assembly removal/installation are shown below.

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF GARNISH RH
Fully open the sunshade trim sub-assembly.
Remove the front sliding roof garnish RH.
REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF GARNISH LH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure described for the RH side.
REMOVE TILT ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
Unlock the lock of the tilt roof glass sub-assembly and tilt up the tilt roof glass sub-assembly.
Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 screws and tilt roof glass sub-assembly.
Tech Tips
The illustration shows the RH side. The vertical orientation of the LH side is opposite that of the image shown in the illustration.
REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
REMOVE TELEVISION BRACKET
w/ 9 Inch Television Display:
Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector.
Detach the clamp.
w/ 12 Inch Television Display:
Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector.
Detach the clamp.
w/o Television Display:
Disconnect the sliding roof drive gear connector.
Detach the clamp.
Remove the 4 bolts.
Detach the clip and guide and remove the television bracket.
REMOVE TILT ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY

Open the plate to break it as shown in the illustration.
Note
When opening the plate to break it, make sure that the tilt roof housing sub-assembly and vehicle body are not damaged.
Tech Tips
The plate is used when the vehicle is assembled at the factory and is not needed for reinstallation.

Disconnect the 2 tilt roof drain hose assemblies and 2 sliding roof drain hoses.
Remove the 7 nuts and tilt roof housing sub-assembly.

Rotate to remove the plate as shown in the illustration.

The plate is used when the vehicle is assembled at the factory and is not needed for reinstallation.
REMOVE TILT ROOF LOCK STRIKER
Remove the 3 bolts and tilt roof lock striker.
REMOVE TILT ROOF PANEL COVER

Remove the tilt roof panel cover.
REMOVE TILT ROOF LOCK HANDLE ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 screws and tilt roof lock handle assembly.
REMOVE TILT ROOF GLASS SEAL

Remove the tilt roof glass seal.
Note
Always replace the tilt roof glass seal with a new one.
REMOVE TILT ROOF WEATHERSTRIP
Remove the tilt roof weatherstrip from the tilt roof glass sub-assembly.
